Video!

The video is done! I'm very happy with how it came out, it's exactly how I pictured it. I posted it on my tumblr from vimeo, but the quality was lost upon upload. So, it's best to view it from the raw file which I will show in class on Monday.

Sunset hues.

I was able to capture the set of colors I was looking for to add to my studies with the hurricane photos. I went to Good Harbor beach in Gloucester, MA.

More and New.

More color studies... I could look at my hurricane photos forever, the colors are to a 't' what I had in mind for a color scheme. Also, new drawings from the hurricane photos, not yet executed in illustrator or a book, but they will head there.

Thoreau and Color.

I've put a copy of the text I've selected relating to my project in everyone's boxes. I've also posted a few new things on my blog. A photo sequence of the view at E. Point in Gloucester. As well as some color studies from the photos I took during the hurricane, after all what I was drawn to was the color so I am finding that that is what I am able to pull from them. From here, I think I'll do more color studies. Maybe draw a pattern from the new hurricane photos. Or start reading about how to produce the patterns. I felt myself getting into a process, which worked for a bit but I need to break that right now before this becomes monotonous.

A Monochromatic View.

New post. New photographs to draw from. I'm really loving the different feel that these give off, but are still connected to what I am doing. I think it's a good mesh and provides more depth.

More process.

I sketched, traced, experimented and will make books of two more patterns. I'm going to get them printed tomorrow, as well as reprint the first one again. Photos of that to come tomorrow evening as, and I'll have them for class of course.

Frustration, Experimenting, Progress.

Okay, so I've spent the past few days tracing one of my sketches in Illustrator (I had a few moments I was about to throw my computer at the wall, thankfully I restrained from doing so) as well as working with 'levels' in Photoshop. So, here is a post of my process in Illustrator. I've made a book in InDesign with all the images of what I've done, which I need to get printed in color at Staples or...some other print shop this weekend. I'm also going to begin reading Thoreau on Sunday. So before Monday my goal is to print the book, make the book, photograph the book, blog the book, read some Thoreau, blog about Thoreau. Let's see what happens....
